The KOG2100 Kristiania Interior Architecture project was a collaborative effort focused on designing an innovative workspace that fosters creativity and artistic expression. Each team member had specific responsibilities, and my role involved developing the overall concept, refining the design, creating renders, and addressing key technical aspects. This project aimed to transform traditional office environments into dynamic spaces that inspire and enhance user experience.

The project aimed to create a flexible office environment that integrates artistic elements from avant-garde artists, providing spaces for both collaboration and individual work. Situated in a dynamic urban setting, the design sought to foster creativity, well-being, and productivity among its users. The workspace featured specific zones inspired by the works of Ivan Kliun and Pablo Picasso, each area reflecting their unique artistic styles. Additionally, I emphasized the use of sustainable materials, such as locally sourced wood and recycled metal, to promote environmental responsibility and reduce the overall carbon footprint. My efforts included ensuring that the artistic expression harmonized with functional workspace needs, creating a stimulating atmosphere that encourages creative exploration.

Concept:

The Cognitive Canvas

The Cognitive Canvas is a design concept that merges artistic expression with innovative workspace design to create a transformative environment. This approach emphasizes a strong connection between individuals and their surroundings, fostering creativity, collaboration, and productivity. By integrating curated artworks from pioneering artists alongside functional design elements, the workspace seeks to inspire new ideas and invigorate the work experience.

The Cognitive Canvas challenges conventional office design by creating an adaptable and dynamic space where employees can thrive. It promotes the idea that the workplace should not just be a functional area but a canvas for creativity and personal expression. Each design element is intentional, from the incorporation of artistic installations that provoke thought and dialogue to the use of sustainable materials that reflect a commitment to environmental stewardship.

This concept also highlights the importance of flexibility and fluidity in modern workspaces. By integrating spaces for both collaboration and quiet reflection, the Cognitive Canvas acknowledges the diverse needs of contemporary workers. It invites users to engage actively with their surroundings, positioning the workspace as a facilitator of innovative thinking and a catalyst for personal growth.Ultimately, the Cognitive Canvas serves as a reminder that the environments we inhabit significantly influence our thoughts and actions. By merging artistic elements with innovative design, this concept invites us to rethink the nature of workspaces, highlighting the interplay between creativity, sustainability, and human experience in the contemporary architectural landscape.
